Designing the perfect room
We all know that choosing the look of your room can be difficult, spending hours looking at colour swatches and the endless arguments over wall paper designs it all takes its toll, that’s why we have gathered a few helping tips to aid you in getting the perfect finish to make your own personal touches to your home.
Bright, bold colours
These are what we call the statement colours; the ones which stand out and make you go WOW! But it can overpower the rest of room. We find the little things make a big difference when choosing strong colours, for example reds are a great colour and are fantastic as a feature wall.
Try adding some neutral white or cream to contrast the deep red, such as coffee tables or even picture frames. This will draw the attention back to the rest of the room and keep the bold colours in check.
Simply White
A simple white room can be boring and can feel a bit like a hospital, but it is one of the best colours to brighten a small room and make it feel more spacious, to avoid the clinical feel try adding different textures of off white or cream accessories, try adding a crocheted or knitted throw or a nice soft pillow on the sofa or perhaps add a rug with a splash of colour to add to the monochrome colour.
Or you could add a couple of patterned or coloured additions, perhaps a set of sky blue pillows, a multi-coloured rug or pictures which will complement the neutral colours and give a casual chic vibe to the room.
Statement Pieces
Sometimes you just need something to grab your attention, maybe an oversized coffee table, a stylish Chesterfield suite or brightly coloured feature wall with a silver finished picture frame or mirror.
At one with nature
A mix of treated or unfinished wooden or wicker accessories, such as vases, coffee tables or other décor, can add the final touches to your room and complement a neutral room and give it a harmonious and natural feel.
